Sauna Rituals is a Global Game Jam 2016 project. Player will manage a group of block people who want to have a Sauna evening. Game ends if one of the participants overheats, freezes or if Sauna becomes too cold. Project has two scenes; Menu.unity and Sauna.unity. Menu will contain the current best score which is stored via PlayerPrefs and allows the player to play a new game which simply loads Sauna.unity scene. Sauna has the actual gameplay which will spawn characters and actions for them. All 3D graphics is made in Unity using just cubes. Animations are made also in Unity using the Animator. The project has been made with Unity 5.3.2f1, it has been tested with PC Standalone and WebPlayer targets. Mobile targets seem to have issues with the character transforms. Also, project does not seem to open and work correctly with previous versions of Unity, similarly having issues with character transforms and animations. Icon graphics is made with Paint.NET. No extra plugins or asset store packages were used. Path following is done by creating a graph of nodes, using Dijkstra algorithm to do shortest path finding and then simply following a list of nodes. Target node is reserved whenever character picks that as a destination. Each node contains some extra information to setup which animation to play and how to simulate heat. Action and ActionContainer scripts are used to spawn the action icons and there are prefabs for each action in the Prefabs folder. Actor deals with actor movement and spawning of actions for them. Stove deals with Sauna heat and spawns action to tend fire. WaterBucket spawns and deals with steam. Rest of the scripts deal mostly with updating of UI or other feedback.
