============ RACING PITCH ============ Version 1.0.3 Copyright 2006-2007 Skinflake Copyright 2006-2007 Jetro Lauha -------- Contents -------- 1 Introduction 2 Technical Information 2.1 Requirements 2.2 Notes 2.3 Sound Output 2.4 Fullscreen/Windowed Mode 2.5 Troubleshooting 3 Contact 4 Credits 5 Version History 6 Health And Safety 7 Legal Text 8 Acknowledgements --------------- 1 Introduction --------------- Racing Pitch sets you to be the engine for a racing car! You must use a microphone to mimic the engine sound, which the game will listen and set you blazing forward accordingly. In addition can also try out flying a hot-air balloon by blowing to microphone to burn fuel. Different driving characters, eleven tracks and exhaust pipe awards are just waiting for you. It leaves you breathless! ------------------------ 2 Technical Information ------------------------ 2.1 Requirements ----------------- * Sound card with a working MICROPHONE connected to it. * Requires a graphics adaptor supporting accelerated OpenGL graphics. * Minimum of 500 MHz computer, at least 128 MB total memory. 2.2 Notes ---------- Use mouse to navigate menus and play the game. You can press pause button or ESC to pause the game. If you press ESC while game is paused, it will return to main menu. Please read throught the "Tips" listed in the level selection screen. 2.3 Sound Output ----------------- If you want to hear your own voice, press key X in main menu. Then you will see a slider, which you can use to control the volume which is used to play back your own voice. Be careful not to create a feedback effect with the sound output by the game itself. This can happen by using loud volume or placing microphone near loudspeakers, for example. 2.4 Fullscreen/Windowed Mode ----------------------------- You can start the game with parameter "w" to force the game in windowed mode, or parameter "f" to force the game in fullscreen mode. This can be done in command line, e.g. with command "Pitch w". Or alternatively, you can create a shortcut to the Pitch.exe, and modify the shortcut so that the Target of it ends e.g. with "Pitch.exe w". 2.5 Troubleshooting -------------------- Please remember that playing the game requires a microphone. Please read all the tips shown in the game. If the game starts but you are unable to control the racing car, check first that your microphone plugin is properly connected to the microphone input in your computer. Check also that your microphone works properly with some other software - use Sound Recorder, for example. If you are still unable to get microphone audio input working on your computer, please go through the following steps to make sure you have selected microphone to be the input audio channel. 1. Open Windows Volume Control dialog. If it is available in your System Tray, you can double click the icon to open it. Alternatively go to Control Panel and select Sounds and Audio Devices->Volume->Advanced. 2. Enable Options->Advanced Controls. 3. Select Options->Properties. 4. Select the "Adjust volume for (*) Recording" radio button. 5. Make sure that the list at bottom of the dialog has at least Microphone selected, and press OK. At this point the Volume Control -dialog will change to a Recording Control -dialog. 6. At bottom of the Microphone column, enable the Select-checkbox and make sure that the microphone volume slider is not in lowest position. 7. Additionally you can click the Advanced button at bottom of the Microphone column. There may be additional options which affect how the game reacts to the microphone sound. ---------- 3 Contact ---------- http://www.skinflake.com Visit the web site if you want to subscribe to our free newsletter!
